CASE STUDIES

The Prince Of Wales Hospice

Trust Fundraising

The Brief:

Internal promotions at the Prince of Wales Hospice led to a review of staffing needs on their fundraising team and a search for a new trust fundraiser. Unfortunately, recruitment to this post was taking longer than expected and was affecting their momentum both on revenue income and their ability to obtain match funding for an ongoing capital (equipment) project. To re-assign current staff members would have been at the expense of other income generating activity.

Action Taken:

Money Tree Fundraising was appointed to build a case for support and budget relevant to trust fundraisers for the capital project, refresh an existing case for unrestricted income and then prepare funding applications, proposals and letters for both. We appointed an Associate Trust Fundraiser on an interim basis for this work and a significant number of applications have since been made, including 70 unrestricted proposal letters. It’s still early days waiting for replies and whilst some delays at the Hospice mean not all the letters have yet been sent, they are making progress and at least one has proved successful so far!

Difference Made:

With the momentum of their trust fundraising programme maintained, and a new trust fundraiser at the Hospice coming into post, the Prince of Wales Hospice is moving from strength to strength.

“Gayle and Deanna were lovely to work with. Gayle got on really well with programme staff, getting the best information out of them that she could. She was very patient and understanding when we were the cause of any delays!”
