CASE STUDIES

Trust Fundraising

The Brief:

A relatively new charity, this organisation supports anyone with a mental health problem to get well and stay well for longer. With a significant proportion of their income coming from government contracts, some lottery and other large grants and from their charitable activity, the charity was looking to become increase their trusts and foundations fundraising to become more sustainable and greater diversify their income streams. This would allow them to fund a growing list of projects they would like to deliver more widely afield within their location. They needed support to establish and grow their trust fundraising programme before bringing it in house.

Action Taken:

Money Tree Fundraising’s team worked with this organisation to develop a strong and clear case for support for their projects and services as well as a number of template proposals, pipeline of potential funders and two significant applications. These have formed the foundation for a practical and maintainable trust fundraising programme which can more easily be taken forward by the charity’s in-house fundraising officer.

Difference Made:

As a small charity delivering services across a large area, this organisation didn’t have the staff resource to do the extra ground work required to set up a trust fundraising programme and process as well as maintain other necessary fundraising activities.

Results:

“We now have a manageable process in place along with the resources to be able to start building a sustainable trust fundraising programme. It is still too soon to have received any responses back from our applications, however we will be continuing to submit proposals using the templates and case for support developed by Money Tree Fundraising.”
