Is the publisher of many books and subscription-only funding databases. These databases are available without charge from their offices in London or Liverpool, as is their resource library crammed with help on a wide range of topics
Foundation for Social Improvement
Supports small charities by offering very cheap or free training and conferences
Institute of Fundraising
Offers very cost-effective networking, training, mentoring and conferences often aimed at small charities through its regional network – and there is no charge to join the mailing list
National Council for Voluntary Organisations
Hosts fundingcentral, a free search tool listing thousands of funding and finance opportunities for voluntary organisations and social enterprises registered in England, as well as toolkits to do your your strategies
Small Charities Coalition
Is available for any organisation with a turnover of less than £1m and they have a range of services and resources to help
Your local CVS
Should offer free or low-cost support for fundraising, often including a funder-finding service
Your local library
Will often be able to offer free access to the Directory of Social Change’s searchable databases of potential funders and some libraries offer access to Who’s Who and other databases of potential major donors.
